The PhD track program specialized in Plasma and Laser Physics of the Institut Polytechnique de Paris (France) is for you! The application procedure to the PhD track is now open. The deadline for application is February 7, 2021.
About the program
A 5-year PhD Track program in Plasma and Laser Physics is designed for excellent students with a background in physics field who are interested in plasma sciences and methods.
The first two years of the program, leading to the Master's degree, are designed to enable students to acquire the tools necessary for the successful completion of an ambitious research project, supervised by an academic tutor. Students who have completed the first year of an equivalent program may be directly admitted into the second year (4-year PhD program).
The following three years are entirely dedicated to the student’s research project and lead to the PhD degree from the Institut Polytechnique de Paris. Each student will benefit from the unique and individualized supervision of a faculty member recognized in his or her discipline.
About the Institut Polytechnique de Paris
Plasma physics is one of the priority research axes of the Institut Polytechnique de Paris (https://www.ip-paris.fr/en). This axis is structured by the Plasma Graduate School. It federates the activity of 7 laboratories and teams (CMAP, CPHT, LOA, LPICM, LPP, LSI, LULI) which represent the largest plasma community in France and cover an extended spectrum of plasma domains at the forefront of science and technology.
How to apply?
The programme is open for motivated high potential students holding a Bachelor’s degree or a Master’s (M1) degree or an equivalent in physics. The program is selective. You are required to provide the following documents: transcript of grades, 2 academic references, CV/resume, statement of purpose.

The result will be available in April, 2021. The program is selective. The best candidates are eligible for excellence scholarships.
